Equivalent fractions are the hinge the rest of fractions turns on: a child who cannot see that 1/2 and 2/4 are the same number will never add 1/2 + 1/4. Here that idea is a weapon — the enemy shield shows a fraction, and only a round of equal value brings it down.
Five hundred levels, nine phases
Levels 1-5 ask what a fraction even is. Then comparing (6-45), adding same-denominator parts (46-110), equivalent fractions (111-170), adding to a whole (171-240), subtracting (241-300), unlike denominators (301-370), finding a common denominator (371-440), and percent at the very end.
The answer is the trigger
Nothing fires by itself and nothing fires by reflex. Choosing the right fraction is the shot; choosing the wrong one costs a shield, never a life, and the step is walked back through in plain words before the next wave.

How to play
Look around with the mouse or a finger and tap an enemy vehicle to lock on — its shield fraction appears on the target panel. Pick fraction modules from the tray to build a charge, watch the running sum, and match it exactly to the shield. Press FIRE: an exact charge destroys the target with a precise-shot bonus, while a charge that is too big overheats the cannon. Enemies that reach the wall damage your base; hold every wave to clear the level. Progress saves automatically, and each tenth level is a multi-layer boss.
What your child learns
Fractions as a full progression: parts of a whole and reading a fraction from equal parts; comparing fractions and recognizing equivalent fractions; adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators; adding fractions with unlike denominators and finding a common denominator; multiplying and dividing simple fractions; and converting between fractions and percents. Plus mental math under time pressure, planning multi-step shots, and checking that a sum matches a target.
The science behind the games
Every Dad4Kids game is built on one simple truth: children want to play, not study — so we turn learning into a game worth replaying. The method draws on peer-reviewed research in game-based learning, motivation, and how memory works.

FAQ
What age is this fractions game for?
Best for ages 7–12. The 500 levels start with the very first idea of a fraction — equal parts of a whole — for 2nd and 3rd graders, and build all the way to unlike denominators, dividing fractions and percents for 5th and 6th graders, so the difficulty grows with the child.
Which fraction skills does it cover?
Reading fractions, comparing them, equivalent fractions, adding and subtracting like and unlike fractions, common denominators, multiplying and dividing fractions, and the link between fractions and percents — each introduced with a worked example before it is needed.
Is it an arcade game where you shoot fast?
No. The cannon only fires after the child has built the correct fraction charge, and nothing threatens them while they think. Speed and reflexes never decide a level — the right math does.
Does the child pick answers from options?
The child assembles the answer themselves by choosing and combining fraction modules until the charge matches the enemy shield exactly. There is no multiple-choice list to guess through — an over-sized charge overheats the cannon, so the exact fraction matters.
